Anatomy Intensive Workshop
with Dr. Josh Akin

North Shore Yoga–Northfield
March 14th–15th, 2014
Friday 1:00 pm–5:00 pm
Saturday 1:00 pm–5:00 pm

[Full Weekend: $150 or $80 per day]

This Anatomy Intensive workshop is material applied specifically to the movements of yoga asana. Although we will explore the poses in the Ashtanga Primary Series and some of Intermediate Series, the application is “non-denominational” and works equally well for any Vinyasa Practice. This workshop allows the details of Western anatomy to be more directly useful to the yoga teacher or practitioner, and has great explanatory power for analyzing asana and problems with asana, adjustments in the poses, and therapeutic applications. The intent of this workshop is to convey a “lens” on anatomy that is immediately useful for the yoga teacher or student.

We will also address some of the most common muscular imbalances, the most common injuries from yoga, what patterns are causing them, and how to recover and prevent re-occurence.
